In heart of Janakkala

Welcome to the historic and unique Harviala Manor!

One of the preeminent estates of ancient Suur-Vanaja

In the 13th century, the first owner of Harviala Manor was Pentti, the son of Birger Jarl. In addition to numerous influential owners, the manor has been held by high-ranking Swedish noble families.

During the war, the main building was destroyed in what is known as the ”Harviala Explosion.”

The Municipality of Janakkala owned the manor grounds from 1989 until 2020, when the manor, along with the local Office, known as Café Konttori, and the Upper Packing House, passed into private ownership.

The Upper Packing House is the oldest building in the area. Built in the late 19th century, it is a magnificent complex that includes office spaces, a former residential wing for gardening students, storage facilities, and a large open attic space. Over the years, the building has served various purposes, from a nursery packing facility to a horse stable.
